Old Town Elk Grove Leaving the lights On!
Elk Grove Chamber’s Leadership Elk Grove Class of 2019 partners with Old Town Elk Grove Foundation to produce the 2019 Tree lighting ceremony as It’s 2019 Community Project
The Chamber Leadership group announced in April that they have chosen to partner with the Old Town Elk Grove Foundation to enhance the tree lighting ceremony and holiday décor in the Old Town corridor.
With the loss of the beloved light parade in Old Town, the group was determined to make the remaining traditions even better than ever.“While we were saddened to lose the parade in Old Town, we are very excited about the new opportunities available.” stated the Old Town Foundation’s President, Angela Perry.“The Leadership group has presented several fun and innovative ideas for to enhance the holiday feel in Old Town and the tree lighting ceremony including performances and new tree and other decorations throughout the district and we are so excited to see the final product.”
The Dickens Faire will take place on November 30th from 10am to 4:30pm with the Tree lighting ceremony following from 4:30 to 6:30pm.We will enjoy performances by Elk Grove’s Teen Idol, Carly Rhoades and others and have cookies and cocoa with the one and only Jolly Saint Nick himself. The finale will take place at 6:00pm Santa will light the new and improved Old Town Christmas tree.
Leadership Elk Grove is a group of 15 business Leaders from the Elk Grove area with a variety of talents and resources and a passion for the history and traditions of Elk Grove.In past years, Leadership projects have included a Mobile Teen Center, Sensory trail for Project RIDE, Healing Garden for Chicks in Crisis and a complete rehabilitation of the Elk Grove Community Garden.
The Old Town Elk Grove Foundation works to preserve the history and aesthetics of the area and promote it as a destination where families can enjoy events, shopping and the history of our fair City.The Dickens Fair is a long standing and beloved holiday event which brings thousands of people out to the Old Town area.
